Default Remaking a character with the same name

Deleting a character and making a new one with the same name. Will this allow a customized item to be used on the new character?

No, every character you create has a different ID code.

I played guild wars for a while on my friend's account and now I finally got my own account. I tried transfering the Icy Dragon Sword to a new character with the same name, but it won't let me make the same name...

Edit: And yes, the older character is already deleted.

That Icy Dragon Sword is useless now. It was customized for the old character that you deleted in your friends account. Even if you recreated the character with the same name back on your friends account it still won't equip.

Does anyone know if this sword can be obtained through Factions/Nightfall and how much it might be worth? I'm really having a nostalgic itch.

The only place you can farm them is in Mineral Springs, which is Prophecies.

Look me up in game, I'll trade you one of my uncustomized ones for yours.

The Icy Dragon Sword can only be obtained in one place, and that place is in Tyria/Prophecies. If you were to buy a new uncustomized one then it would cost you around 15-20k i'd say.

Heroes can still use it (since he asked if it drops in Factio or Nightfall) so no need to dump it yet.

Can your heroes use a weapon customized for someone else?

Heros can use any weapon you've customized for any character on your account.

I'm pretty sure they can only use weapons that are customized to whoever owns those particular heroes. Meaning I can't take my customized scar eater from my monk and give it to my Dunkoro on my ranger. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Hero's can only use customized items for the character it was customized for. ie. say My Ranger customized a bow, his heros or himself can use it, but no other characters or their heros can equip the item.

Please don't state guesses as facts.

That's the way I remember it.

As a side note: I've reused character names several times with no trouble, except once. When I deleted from one account and tried to reuse the name on another account it took about 24hrs to release the name.

Really, why would you want to do that? I have a customized IDS that I would love to trade for a uncustomized one!

1. Items are customized to an exact character, not a name.

2. Heroes can equip items customized to their controlling character, not to an account.

3. Deleted character names are reserved to your account for 30-45 (?) minutes before they become available to anyone.

4. All questions have been answered.
